What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis allows us to tap into the subconscious mind, where our memories and emotions are stored bypassing the conscious mind where our logic is stored.
During a hypnosis session, you will be guided into this receptive state where suggestions are then given to your subconscious mind to have positive effects on your life.
Carrie’s passion for yoga, in particular, guided meditation, brought her to the study of hypnosis. Hypnosis is similar to guided meditation but at a much deeper level, as they both relax the conscious mind allowing access to the subconscious minds where change can occur. Her relaxed energy and soothing voice leads clients into a deep state of inner calm where specific challenges can be addressed.
Carrie is a Certified Consulting Hypnotist and a member of The National Guild of Hypnotists and has been helping people improve their lives with hypnosis since 2015. Carrie is also a yoga instructor and enjoys leading slow flow and Yin classes at We Thrive.
In both her yoga classes and hypnosis sessions, she encourages people to connect with their inner messenger and learn how to nurture from within to make changes in their lives. Her love of healing comes from the profound personal transformations she has experienced over the years in her own life and those of her clients and students.

What does hypnosis feel like?
Have you ever “become really absorbed” while watching TV? Or driven to work on “auto pilot?” These are examples of the same kind of altered state as hypnosis. It’s like when you watch a movie. You are relaxed and focused at the same time. You’ve tuned out the rest of the world and are involved in the story. So much so, that your body reacts to things happening on the screen and feels them as if they were real. Consciously you know it’s just light on a screen but your subconscious registers fear, joy, and the emotions swell anyway.
How many sessions are needed?
That varies from person to person but generally changes are seen very quickly – sometimes even after just one session.
What does hypnosis help with?
Hypnosis has proven very effective at helping with issues like: sleep disorders, fears, anxiety and phobias, weight management, improving relationships, sports development, improving confidence and self-esteem, changing habits and behaviours, managing stress, and discovering past lives to help improve your current life. It has also been beneficial in the healing process of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual traumas.

In this initial session, Carrie will explore your motivation for seeking hypnosis. She will help you understand how hypnosis works and how it will help you address your treatment goals. The two of you will make an initial plan for working together.

First + Follow Up Visits
You can expect your hypnosis sessions with Carrie to be relaxing and gentle. Each session will focus on addressing your unique concerns and goals. The number of sessions in your treatment plan will depend on the presenting issues.
Hypnosis Session: $90 + HST
Appointment Length: 60 minutes
Hypnosis visits are subject to HST. Payment options include Cash, Debit, Visa or MasterCard.
Hypnosis is not covered by extended health benefits.
