Lunchtime Yinstorative Yoga

End your work week and begin your weekend with a soothing Friday lunchtime Yinstorative Yoga class.

Take a half hour break at the end of your busy week to slow down, feel your breath, and let go of unnecessary eff ort with a gentle class that blends restorative, and yin poses.

Yinstorative applies the restorative philosophy to Yin poses by propping them more to allow longer held very restful poses thereby applying passive healing that enables the calming of the “fight, flight, freeze “stress response of the sympathetic nervous system and activates the parasympathetic “rest, digest, healing” part of the nervous system.

Energetically, this is a time for softness and reflection. A time to quiet things down so you can listen to your own inner voice, wisdom, and set our intentions with mindfulness and integrity.

Yin Yoga Exploration of the Chakras

Join AnnMarie Wolf for this morning Yin yoga sequence to awaken the innate connection between your body, breath and mind.

A morning Yin yoga practice gives us the chance to exercise deep listening. When we make the space to listen in the morning, we can hear all the places in our physical body gently wake as we move into long releasing Yin shape after long releasing Yin shape.

Taking time for Yin early in the day, when our muscles are cold, allows us to access the deeper fascia. That depth, that stillness, is what our bodies seek. It prepares us to listen a little more deeply and be a little kinder to ourselves. That kindness gives us the grace to move slowly, to not be tethered to devices, and to create silence and stillness.

This Yin Yoga Exploration of the Chakras gentle stretch series is designed to help you experience your subtle, energetic body. Each week we will explore one of the 7 essential chakras. Practicing yoga for your chakras means becoming aware of the themes related to each chakra, or energy centre, starting at the base of the spine and working your way upward through all seven chakras. It can help you understand what they represent for you and what it feels like when you’re experiencing either a lack or an excess around a particular are in life.

Even if you’re not certain what the chakras are or you’re not certain what you think about these concepts, you will still use the teachings of this series to connect with general themes in life. It is an opportunity to learn about more about yourself.

Yoga Strong | 5-Weeks

Join AnnMarie Wolf for this strengthening yoga practice.

The Yoga Strong practice is a coordinated series of challenging, slow-moving, controlled muscle-building workouts. It’s everything we need in a yoga class to help improve mobility while toning and shaping muscle.

Yoga, by itself, doesn’t make us strong enough for essential life vitality. As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and with it the ability to do the things we want to be able to do for the rest of our life. But you don’t have to lose that muscle mass!

When you build muscle, your body naturally burns more glucose, even at rest; increases bone density; and demonstrates more muscle definition. As you get stronger you will also notice that your balance improves. Strength training doesn’t just enhance the benefits of yoga, it also increases a yogi’s ability to achieve challenging poses and perform daily activities with less fatigue.

Your life energy/qi flows through these meridian highways related to various organs in the body and we will explore the subtleties of these energies.

A yin yoga class is meditative in-nature. Each yin posture is held for several minutes, helping you to observe what arises for you, while you quietly hold the pose.

Full Moon Restorative & Sound

Join Carrie Taylor and Stef Bourke for this full moon restorative yoga and sound experience.

This is your opportunity take a break from doing for others to allow yourself the opportunity to rest and be nurtured in We Thrive’s cozy studio.

Full moons are great gateways to create change in our lives, they are powerful tools for letting go of unwanted energy and cleansing and releasing what doesn’t serve us anymore.

During this Full Moon Restorative Circle you will be guided to create openings in both your body and mind to allow for your dreams to take root and be charged by the light of the full moon.

In this session, we’ll come together in circle for a full moon release practice with crystals. We will follow Carrie through an incredibly nurturing restorative yoga practice that was designed to facilitate release during the full moon, and we will go deep with the soft sounds of crystal singing bowls, voice and a guided meditation with Stef.

Restorative yoga is a restful practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During our practice you may hardly move at all, doing just a few postures over the course of an hour. No yoga experience necessary.

A Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to nurture your mind and body.

Somatic Breathwork Experience

Take your healing into your body for real results, and join us for this Somatic Breathwork Experience with Breanne Queen.

Soma = body. When we work within the body, we achieve deeper healing. The body holds all our trauma, emotions, and old energies that can negatively affect our mental and physical health. By engaging the body, we create a space for release, leading to improved health and well-being.  Using somatics, we achieve faster and deeper healing than we otherwise could by focusing solely in the mind.

In this Somatic Breathwork Experience, you will be guided to drop into your body and use somatics – Breath, Movement, and Sounding – to create a space for your body to release and heal on a deeper level. The effects of somatic work are felt immediately and can produce profound shifts in your mental and emotional well-being.

Elemental Meditation | 4-Weeks

Join Stef Bourke, Certified Meditation and Alignment Coach, on this meditation-based journey through the elements.

Earth, water, fire and air each represent different aspects of life. Often we work with the energy of the earth to find stability and sure footedness, but have you ever worked with the air?

Connecting to each element is the basic principle behind the practice of elemental meditation. We work with the energy of each element to harness its transformative power in your life.

Each week, we’ll work with one element and explore its teachings, how it relates to our way of being and how to use it intentionally in your approach to life.

New to meditation? No worries, don’t be shy. All are welcome. No experience is necessary.

Spirit + Sound

Join us for this unique meditative experience and opportunity to practice spiritual self care with Energy Therapist Sarah Hutchison.

Spirit + Sound sessions combine a meditative Gong Bath experience with a conversation circle on intuitive development topics.

This group session begins with a conversation circle on intuitive development. Some of the topics explored will be: holistic self care, grounding techniques, meditation practice, intuitive/psychic senses, clearing your own energy field, prayer and intention, signs and synchronicities, chakras, and divination tools. The topic will change with each session.

Following the circle, a gong bath will help participants release the stress of the day and relax. Participants are “bathed” in therapeutic gong sound frequencies, that help to slow their breathing, heartrate and thinking patterns. Participants who generally find guided or other forms of meditation difficult because of wandering thoughts, often report that gong baths help them release distraction and go deeper into the meditative experience. Participants enjoy the gong bath while lying down under a blanket. Mats, blankets and pillows are provided, or participants can bring their own.

New Moon Yinstorative & Sound

Join Certified Yoga Practitioner AnnMarie Wolf and Certified Meditation Coach Stef Bourke for this gentle yoga practice that blends restorative and yin poses, enhanced by the soothing sounds of singing bowls and voice.

This Yinstorative workshop is a deeply restful experience during which we use our yoga practice to help us turn inward.

Energetically, this is a time for softness and reflection. A time to turn our attention inwards and reflect on what’s truly happening with our emotional and mental landscape. A time to quiet things down so we can listen to our own inner voice, wisdom, and set our intentions with mindfulness and integrity.

One of the most powerful energies of Yinstorative Yoga is the energy of stillness. An experience that invites us to create space for simply being. Yinstorative guides us into the rest and reflection essential for our growth and wellbeing.

Why Add Sound?

The vibrational frequencies of sound healing instruments like crystal bowls have the ability to move through skin, fluid, and bones of the body, creating a full body relaxation and recalibration down to the level of the cellular structure. The experience creates an environment of “resonance” within the body.
