Why do we paint? The most important thing about making paintings are not the paintings. Even more important than the painting we make is what happens to us when we make it.
Join us for an evening of fun and creativity with Margie of Just for Today; I am Creative as she takes you step by step through the creation of your very own masterpiece and brings out the inner artist you never knew you had in you.
When we make a mark on canvas, it becomes possible not just to create a thing, but to become a human being. It becomes possible, then, not simply to make a picture of something, but to express ourselves in a way we don’t use often.
In the subject matter of a piece of art, we might see flowers or a sunset, but that’s superficial. The value of the painting is not as a recording of what is experienced through the eyes, but the unfolding of a diaologue between the subject, the medium and the artist; opening the door of possibility to be moved profoundly and to move others. Art is illuminated by the soul.
Painting parties at She Thrives with Margie aren’t stressful. She puts even the most reluctant artist at ease with her encouraging nature and easy-to-follow guidance. Rest assured though, every painting that results is its own unique creation, a reflection of you in your humanness.
