Yin Yang Yoga fuses two styles of yoga into one practice. This fusion gracefully brings together the benefits of the slow and passive Yin shapes with a movement-based gentle Yang Hatha flow.
Yin targets the deep connective tissues to encourage the joint capsules to allow release towards flexibility. Yang prepares the muscle fibres to slide into length and accept the edge in the Yin shapes allowing the student to surrender to the shape of the pose.
Since Yin shapes are held longer Yin is a natural gateway into meditation. Students gradually learn how to breathe through the bombardment of thoughts that our minds throw at us when we try to meditate.
*All levels are welcome – from beginner to experienced.

AnnMarie retired from a fulfilling career as a Secondary School Healthy Active Living teacher in June of 2014 and the very next day began her studies in yoga teacher training becoming a certified Vinyasa/Hatha yoga teacher in 2015. AnnMarieโs love of yoga led her to continuing yoga education in restorative yoga, therapeutic yoga, roll model therapy, yoga for seniors and yin yoga. Although her passion in bringing the magic of yoga to her peeps, the Baby Boomers, her classes are designed for people of all ages and body types, with varied challenges in strength, agility, balance, flexibility, and mental focus. Her personal mantra is โYou are never too old nor too stiff.”
