Deepen your healing with a holistic approach

When it comes to healing mental and emotional aspects of ourselves, the approach we take with our psychotherapist makes a signficant difference. The more we honour the complexity of our being and the holistic way in which our body heals, the more lasting our healing and transformation will be.

Working with Sarah Angela

When you work with Sarah Angela, your care can take different directions based on your individual needs.

Because Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge from a variety of disciplines, there are many options available to create a treatment plan that is right for you.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy addresses personal difficulties. It allows an individual, family, or couple, to talk openly and confidentially about their concerns and feelings with a trained professional. Almost all types of psychotherapy involve developing a therapeutic relationship, communicating and creating a dialogue, and working to overcome challenging thoughts, feelings or behaviours.

A psychotherapist is one who engages clients in talk or experiential therapy in order to help improve: quality of life, satisfaction in relationships, functioning in society, performance in work or play, general health, and well-being.

Modalities Used:

The Havening Techniques®
The Havening Techniques®, which utilizes current neuroscience, can help with many issues, including distressing memories, trauma, fear and pain. Havening is a psycho-sensory technique which uses the sensory input of touch, imagination, and attention to create lasting change.
Focusing
Connecting into your body to access emotions rather than being too ‘in your head’. This practice helps you become more grounded and anchored in your physical experience and increasingly able to navigate the inevitable emotional ups and downs of life.
Guided Imagery
Accessing through your imagination underlying beliefs, personal myths, subconscious connections and inner truths to guide you along your journey of healing.
Inner Child Work
A metaphor for working with our emotional body, using various tools to access buried emotions and connect with current feelings.
Body Psychotherapy
Body-centered therapy looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both psychotherapy and physical therapies for holistic healing. In addition to talk therapy, somatic therapy practitioners use mind-body exercises and other physical techniques to help release stress affecting your physical and emotional well-being.
Transpersonal Psychotherapy
Transpersonal psychotherapy, or spiritual psychotherapy, integrates the spiritual and transcendent aspects of the human experience within the framework of modern psychotherapy.
Sub-Personalities Dialoguing
A powerful and non-judgmental method for guiding people towards a better understanding of their inner urges and motives. Conversation is facilitated with the various sub-personalities of the client, to gain more insight into the various sides and feelings within them. This leads to more self-acceptance, freedom of choice and the
expansion of the behavioral repertoire.
Inner Critic Work
Learning to recognize the voice of your inner critic to ease or stop negative self-talk.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual Direction offers clients an opportunity to explore the deepest questions in a person’s life. Through spiritual direction you explore your relationship with the divine as you seek to learn and grow in your own personal spirituality. You examine the great mystery of who you are and your deepest fears, challenges to living your life fully and consciously, experiences with spiritual awakening, spiritual emergencies and the dark night of the soul, and the realities of living as a modern day mystic. As you take the risk of exploring these poignant, raw thoughts and feelings, you’ll find a new aliveness within you and around you, becoming more alert to the subtleties of the divine’s continued presence within you.

Paths for Exploration:

Comparative Theology
A theological practice committed to deep inter-religious learning (“comparative”) while staying rooted in a particular religious tradition (“theology”).
Earth-Based Spirituality
Earth-based spirituality is a spiritual and religious worldview that puts the Mother Earth (Gaia) at the center of the spiritual practice.
Mystical Theology & Modern Mysticism
The study and practice of mystical experiences brought about during altered states of consciousness, along with any ideologies, ethics, rites, myths, legends, and magic that may be related to them.
Contemporary Spirituality
Contemporary Spirituality emerges from diverse traditions, and is centrally concerned with individual spiritual experience as the starting point for exploration and development. Its values and beliefs are holistic, recognising the intimate interdependence of all life.
Spiritual Journeys
Journeying like meditation is a tool for spiritual growth. It is also a tool that can be used for healing, to obtain information, and in working through psychological issues. When someone goes on a journey they are able to communicate on a spiritual level.
Death & Dying
An exploration of your fears around death and dying, and their connection to the extent to which you live life fully and consciously.
Spiritual Emergence & Emergency
Spiritual Emergence is the awakening of the spiritual potential within an individual that initiates the unfolding and expansion of that individual’s way of being. Contrasted with the experience of a Spiritual Emergency – critical and experientially difficult stages of a profound psychological transformation that involves one’s entire being, that often takes the form of non ordinary states of consciousness and involve intense emotions, visions and other sensory changes, and unusual thoughts, as well as various physical manifestations.
Dark Night of the Soul
The dark night of the soul is a stage in personal development when a person undergoes a difficult and significant transition to a deeper perception of life and their place in it. This enhanced awareness is accompanied by a painful shedding of previous conceptual frameworks such as an identity, relationship, career, habit or belief system that previously allowed them to construct meaning in their life.

HOLISTIC ENERGY WORK

Holistic Energy Work involves the practice of a variety of energy healing modalities that activate the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks and stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.

Holistic energy work promotes self-healing by relaxing the body, and releasing tensions and energy blockages. Healing is natural and non-invasive with the intention of bringing the recipient into a state of balance and well-being on all levels. Energy work using vibrational medicine to calm and rebalance the client’s mind, body and soul. Clients report feeling lighter, less anxious and at peace following energy work.

Modalities Used:

Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki is a laying-on of hands technique thought to be of Tibetan Buddhist origin that was rediscovered in Japan in the 1800s. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning ‘spiritually guided life force energy’. It is a non-invasive healing technique in which the client participates in their own healing. (Usui & Tibetan Traditions practiced)
Meditation & Chakras
Develop the ability to meditate effectively, use creative visualization, intention and connection with the chakra system to stabilize and energize your body-mind-spirit.
Intuitive Arts
Learn to tune into your subtle guidance system and develop and trust your intuition.
Vibrational Arts
Gentle spiritual healing techniques integrating sound, colour, crystals and sacred geometry.
Medical Intuition
Connecting to psycho-spiritual influences behind illness and disease using prayer and guided imagery in meditation.
Sound Energetics
The latest scientific research on sound indicates that this vibrational art helps to synchronize the hemispheres of the brain, induce relaxing brainwave states, and produce the relaxation response: lower heart rate, blood pressure and deeper breathing. Sound is a powerful modality to clear and balance the human energy field and chakras connecting us deeply to our soul and spirit.
Subtle Aromatherapy
Using the vibrational qualities of essential oils to facilitate the healing of the body’s energy field, chakras, psyche and soul. A subtle aromatherapy treatment involves emotional healing, energy transfer and essential oils. It synergistically combines universal life force with the plants’ and client’s life force.
