THE EVENT

Stand Up for Mental Health™

This unique event provides a platform for folks who live with mental health challenges to share their stories through stand-up comedy. Each of the comics complete a comedy training program to develop their set, under the coaching of Mental Health Counsellor, Comedian and Founder of Stand Up for Mental Health™, David Granirer.

By showcasing their talents and humor, these individuals not only entertain but also help break down stigma. Join our encouraging audience and show your support for mental health awareness, while enjoying a night of hilarious performances!

Comedy Show & Panel

Laugh along as our comedians – Heather Armstrong, Janet Richards, Jimmy McLean, Luisa Sorrentino, Holly Von Michalofski, Johanna Goodfellow and Kari Fraser – share their personal stories with comedic flair. SMH Founder, David Granirer will emcee the evening from Vancouver (virtually) in this creative and intimate behind-the-scenes show.

In the second half of the evening, enjoy honest and frank conversation about the SMH experience and living well with mental health challenges. This event is hosted by We Thrive Wellness Centre in Downtown Belleville.
